Cusack Cup: Miltown 2-11 Lissycasey 2-8

Our senior side kept their unbeaten 2024 Cusack Cup record intact with victory away to Lissycasey on Friday evening. Gordon Kelly opened the Miltown account early on and as both sides traded points scores from Oisin Looney, Darragh McDonagh & Oisin Meade from a mark gave Miltown a two point lead before the home side struck for a goal after 20 minutes. Miltown however reacted well and points from Paul Keane & Darragh McDonagh brought the teams level after 25 minutes. With half time approaching Lissycasey took a one point lead before a great strike into the bottom corner of the home net from Dominic Griffin and a point from Micheal Murray gave Miltown a 1-7 to 1-4 half time lead.

Miltown began the second half with a Ralph Whelehan point before Lissycasey struck for their second goal of the game after 8 minutes. Miltown kept the scoreboard ticking along with points from Dominic Griffin & Cian Mahony (2) and as the game drew to a close the sides were level 2-8 t0 1-11. Miltown kept going to the end and a penalty goal from Seanie Malone after a foul on Paul Keane ensured victory on a scoreline of Miltown 2-11 Lissycasey 2-8
