Miltown 1-5 Wolfe Tones 1-6

Our Junior team began their Division 5 league campaign with a narrow defeat to Wolfe Tones in a game played on the Clarecastle GAA astroturf on Wednesday night. The first half was a tight scrappy affair with scores at a premium , indeed when the half time whistle blew Wolfe Tones held a one point lead on a scoreline of 0-2 to 0-1 with Miltowns score coming from Cillian Keavey.

The second half saw the scoring rate increase as both sides got to terms with the artificial surface. Wolfe Tones extended their lead as the half wore on but Miltown kept in touch with scores from Cillian Keavey (2) & Sean Malone. A Ger Malone point and a late goal from Ralph Whelehan left the minimum between the sides at the final whistle
