St. Josephs Miltown 1-9 Kildysart 0-6

Our senior side began their 2024 Cusack Cup season with an impressive victory over Kildysart in a game played under lights in Hennessy Memorial Park on Friday last. Kildysart opend the scoring with a point before Miltown got the scoreboard ticking along with points from Micheal Murray, Oisin Meade & Oisin Looney all from play and a Paul Keane free gave Miltown a three point lead, before a Kildysart scored their second point of the evening. A kieran Malone point from play and a Darragh McDonagh effort on the stroke of halftime saw Miltown lead by 0-6 to 0-2.

The second half was a tighter affair with the visitors attempting to up their scoring rate but coming up against a determined Miltown defence. Points from substitute Cian Mahony , Micheal Murray & Kieran Malone kept Miltown ahead and a penalty goal from Seanie Malone put the game beyond doubt as the lads began the season in a very positive fashion.
