Junior A Championship

Miltown 0-6

Clondegad 0-10

Our Junior A side fell to a third defeat in the group stages of this year’s championship when despite a battling performance they lost out to a much fancied Killimer side in Cooraclare on Friday evening.

Miltown started well and lead by two points to one after the first 10 minutes with both scores coming from the boot of Cillian Keavey. The teams traded scores for the remainder of the half with Patrick Greene, Mark Cuningham (from a 45) & Diarmaid O’Sullivan points leaving the score at half time Miltown 0-5 Killimer 0-6. The loss of Ger Malone to a hand injury in the first half meant that Conal Meade entered the fray and opened the scoring in the second to level matters. Killimer however began to dominate possession and create more scoring chances as they kept the scoreboard ticking over. Miltown despite battling to the very end lost out on a scoreline of 0-6 to 0-12 and now face into a relegation dogfight in the next round.
